Formal education At the age of 12, Ramanujan is said to have worked out the properties of arithmetical, geometrical and harmonic progressions. In these lectures, I will present an account of his romantic life, provide a few glimpses into his mathematics and relate the increasing interest in his work and its relevance even today. He was also credited for compiling folk-tales from across the country and categorizing them according to topics and analyzing them according to the cultural milieu.
